Here are Some Suggestions for Getting Engaged

Start the Conversation

Start and continue the conversation about substance abuse at "Home" with your children, siblings, parents, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc.  Get agreement from all to stand up against substance abuse and then show your support by going purple.

Contact us with questions, suggestions, and to let us know how you are increasing awareness at your "Home".

Tell Your Story

Tell us your story so that it can be shared to help others.  We have several options for capturing and sharing your story.  It can be shared anonymously if you chose.  Simply click the contact button and give us enough information to reach you and will contact you to work out the details.

Go Purple at your Business

  • Fill out the form to show your support. You can order Purple items from us or you can create your own.  Just get the messages out to your team and work to increase awareness. You can get purple lights from ED Supply, display banners, hand out our flyers, put decals on your vehicle (or your full fleet if you have multiples),  wear your purple wrist band, or reach out to a committee member for more suggestions like:

  • Have Purple Friday's to wear your purple shirts or other purple items
  • Have a meeting each day in September to review and discuss the message of the day
  • Schedule a Purple event for your team or customers
  • Have someone come from the Committee come out to present to your team
  • Use the contact button at the bottom of the page to share the cool ideas you have come up with to increase awareness
  • Click on the Business Resource button below to see examples from B&G Foods

If you're on the MidShore and need access to drug and/or alcohol treatment, there is help .

We can help link you with the right local resource when you're ready.   Call the Dorchester County Health Department at 410-228-7714 for information on treatment and recovery options.   If you’re in crisis please call 888-407-8018. If you have an emergency please dial 911.

Looking for information on how to access treatment? Or perhaps how to properly store or dispose of medications?  Maybe you need tips on how to talk to your doctor or pharmacist...  www.iwishiknewmidshore.org is the MidShore's resource for that, and more.  Use our online treatment information tool to determine who to call if you or a loved one needs treatment. Find your local drop box. Get connected with a local family support group.

If you've got questions, we've got answers. And we're ready whenever you are.
